500g/1lb 2oz vine-ripened tomatoes
2 whole garlic cloves, unpeeled
180g/6⅓oz cooking chorizo
½ tbsp rapeseed oil
1 tbsp sweet smoked paprika
500g/1lb 2oz basic lentil stew
300ml/½ pint hot vegetable stock
pinch sugar
sea salt and cracked black pepper
4 tbsp crème fraîche or cream (optional)
handful fresh parsley, roughly chopped
